The centerpiece of the mid-rise commercial timber building by the same principal and firm, KBM | Hogue was designed to harmoniously integrate core, shell, program, and furnishings in a singular module. The design leverages exposed glulam beams and other wood elements to not only enhance the beauty of Knoll’s iconic brand but to deliver the biophilic and wellness benefits to the KBM | Hogue staff and guests.
Challenged to design a fluid office showroom, our team relished the opportunity to work with a client who spoke our language, in a mass timber shell that we carefully created. However, the impact of large HVAC units on exposed timber ceilings stretched the creativity of our space plan resulting in strategically placed soffits at the end of the space over the mother’s and server rooms. The client’s modular wall product created the conference room and furthered our integrated design approach. Minimal hard walls supported continuous ceiling views and filled the space with natural light.
The work café, library and free address workstations complete the transformative workplace for one of our industries’ premier brands.
