When designing the Executive offices for the C-Suite of ServiceNow, the team applied the ServiceNow philosophy of “making the world of work, work better” to its new workplace design. Creating an environment that was open and welcoming but at the same time productive for this group was critical.
ServiceNow is exceptionally progressive when it comes to designing their offices. The traditional significance of hierarchy as reflected in the size of personal offices was inconsequential to the design of their new space. Instead, the design team was directed to focus on increasing productivity and reducing stress levels at work. Each office was personally designed to cater to the needs of each executive and their workstyles. An executive who meets with a large team, on a daily basis, gets a bigger conference room style office, eliminating the daily need to search for a conference room. Conversely, an employee who generally meets one-on-one may have a more private space, reflecting the personalized comfort of a home office. Each office is distinctly different, with its own personality, character, and bypassing the typical uniformity.
ServiceNow wanted to ensure that their space would help foster communication with staff at all levels. Upon arrival at the elevator lobbies, employees are encouraged to interact and share a little of their passion and authentic self on the “Be You” Selfie wall. A cozy living room and coffee bar, behind the selfie wall, greets employees and guests as they arrive. Serving double duty, the living room functions as both a waiting area for guests and central collaboration area for employees.
Throughout the workplace, brand-appropriate colors and graphics project a positive energy, establishing an engaging environment that reinforces culture and sense of belonging, and commitment to creating unique solutions for its customers, to help “make the world of work, work better”.
