The design of Hotel SLO offers every guest a sense of place by highlighting San Luis Obispo's emerging fine art and music scene and bohemian charm. Unique pieces of art greet visitors in each space, including Sculptural knots and squiggles by Katie Gong, a Circuit Board by Windy Chien, a delicate three-dimensional cut paper piece from Matthew Picton, and many more.
Nestled in SLO’s quaint downtown on the Central California coast, Hotel San Luis Obispo is only steps away from premier restaurants and shopping, an independent movie theater, and the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. In addition to 78 luxurious rooms and flexible gathering spaces that can accommodate up to 350 guests, amenities include a full-service spa, courtyard, pool, gym, and two on-site restaurants. The architecture and interior design encompass the boutique brand’s vision of modern luxury and the laid-back California lifestyle. With rugged ranch and relaxed coastal influences, visitors can truly experience the culture of the California coast.
A concept of comfort but approachable luxury inspired the brand, alongside with the design firm, to create the identity of the property. An important driver for the programming was the client's desire to establish a community driven space that is just as useful to locals as it is to those visiting from afar. A large congregation space serves as a buzzing center of activity in downtown, while elevated food and beverage experiences from the property’s two restaurants, Piadina and Ox + Anchor, attract those looking for an intimate and elevated experience.
Hotel SLO is so much more than a hotel—it's a cultural hub distinctive to the flavor of the region, making everyone who enters feel like an insider.
