Open since November 2018, the new Hilton Midtown Guadalajara boasts over 4,000 generous square meters of public space amenities, including Lobby, Bar/Lounge, Restaurant, Event Areas, Rooftop Pool & Lounge, Fitness and Executive Lounge, along with 226 keys, including a multitude of suite types and upgraded offerings. Within a budget of roughly $5.9 million USD (including architectural finishes and furnishings) we delivered a contemporary tribute to the regional traditions and articulated sense of place through architectural expression.
Considered the birthplace of Mexican culture, Guadalajara offers a bounty of inspiration – from earthy historic architecture, ornate patterns from native handicrafts, to the intricate stitching adorning the Mariachi. Our palette expresses the surrounding landscape - densely layered textures and geometries of the urban fabric underscored by earth and sky, accented with notes of metal and glass that reflect the urban, forward-facing attitude of Guadalajara today.
Screening elements throughout cast playful shadows, celebrating the hazy warm tone of day light that’s unique to Guadalajara. Meanwhile, regional patterns take a modern twist, represented most dominantly in our collection of custom carpets and rugs whose blue tones suggest the traditional glaze used in Talavera pottery. Complimentary patterns are expressed at many scales and spaces, from the window screens in the public areas to the coordinating carpet and desk components in the guestrooms. Guests will delight in discovering these connections and their subtle nod to local context.
